Dr. Arunima Sivanand is a board-certified dermatologist with extensive training and expertise in both medical and surgical dermatology. She earned her Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences from McMaster University before completing her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Toronto in 2020. Following medical school, she pursued a Dermatology residency at the University of Alberta, where she also completed a Master of Science in Translational Medicine. During her residency, she distinguished herself as Chief Resident, reflecting her leadership and commitment to advancing dermatologic education and patient care.

Over the course of 14 years of post-secondary education, Dr. Sivanand has built a robust academic and clinical foundation. Her research contributions have been published in leading journals such as Dermatology, British Journal of Dermatology, Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery, Frontiers in Medicine, Frontiers in Immunology, Canadian Medical Association Journal, and Academic Medicine. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Postgraduate Medical Publication Prize, the CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarship, and the Alberta Innovates Graduate Student Scholarship.

Dr. Sivanand’s clinical and research interests span skin cancer, psoriasis, dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, acne, and the role of clinical trials in advancing treatment. She provides comprehensive care for a wide range of dermatologic conditions, including acne and acne scarring, atopic dermatitis, eczema, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, skin cancer, vitiligo, and sun damage. Her surgical expertise includes cancer excisions, cosmetic mole removal, lesion excisions, lipoma and cyst removal, as well as specialized procedures such as deroofing surgery for hidradenitis suppurativa.

Dr. Sivanand is an active member of the Canadian Dermatology Association (CDA) and remains dedicated to combining evidence-based medicine, innovative treatments, and compassionate patient care to improve outcomes and quality of life for her patients.
